Many of our guests ask us what we recommend doing on their visit to Lake George.
We always enjoy the opportunity to talk about local activities and have many good suggestions, however, we find that many times once our guests arrive it is too late for them to plan out the activities that they want to do. Sometimes it is because they didn’t pack the right clothes or gear, other times because they made some kind of reservation that doesn’t allow time for a certain activity that they would like to do.
So we have decided to include on our website a blog section that contains some of the most common suggestions that we give to our guests. This way they can have an easier time planning ahead and have a better chance of doing everything that they would like to on their trip.

We mostly concentrate on activities in the LK George and Adirondack area, we will also include some dining suggestions.
Whether you stay with us or not, we are sure that you will enjoy our articles and that they will help you plan your trip and enjoy some of the many great attractions that bring so many people to the area every year.
Many are surprised to discover that Lake George is actually a year-round destination. Our most recent blog posts will concentrate on the current season and the activities that you may want to enjoy on a near trip. However, you can scan our older posts for information on the other season in order to better plan a future trip.

There is a fascinating mixture of architectural styles all along Lake George!Go sailing! This is obviously a favorite pastime on the lake.GO ISLAND HOPPING! THERE ARE LITERALLY 100’S OF STATE OWNED ISLANDS THAT YOU CAN PICNIC OR SUNBATH OFF OF.Enjoy a private motor-boat ride or a cruise!GO TUBING! TUBING IS A VERY POPULAR SPORT ON THE LAKE!Go whitewater rafting! There are many options in the area, our guests have always commented on what a great experience it was!GO JET-SKIING! Either bring your own or rent one here.GO Water skiing! LK GEORGE IS A GREAT PLACE TO WATER SKIGO RIVER TUBING! THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPANIES THAT OFFER DAY TRIPS.Go kayaking! There are several places on the lake to rent kayaks or canoes.GO ROCK CLIMBING! IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO TRY IT THERE ARE SEVERAL AMAZING PLACES TO ROCK CLIMB IN THE ADIRONDACKS.Go for a picnic! There are plenty of beautiful spots to picnic, either in the mountains or on the islands.GO FISHING! THIS IS AN OBVIOUS OPTION, HOWEVER, IT IS SURPRISING HOW MANY GUESTS LAMENT FORGETTING TO PACK THEIR FISHING-RODS!Enjoy a glass of wine by the lake! Whether you try a local vineyard or an imported bottle you will have no shortage of places to enjoy it!Go for a hike! This is a favorite activity in the area, and with all of the great options it’s no wonder why.GO FOR A BIKE RIDE! WHETHER YOU RIDE A ROAD-BIKE A MOUNTAIN-BIKE OR A BMX THERE ARE PLENTY OF AMAZING BIKE RIDING OPTIONS IN THE AREA.COME FOR AMERICADE! 1,000’S OF MOTORCYCLES FLOCK TO THE VILLAGE FOR THIS WEEK OF AMAZING ACTIVITY.COME FOR THE CLASSIC CAR SHOW! THIS WEEK LONG EVENT IS A MUST FOR CAR ENTHUSIASTS.Go to the races! The historic track in Saratoga Springs is less than 25 miles from Lake George Village.GO SHOPPING! THE OUTLETS ARE JUST A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD!Eat out! there is no shortage of fine dining in the area.Go leaf peeping! In the fall the colors are incredible.Enjoy the hot-air balloons! In the fall there is usually a “night-lighting” show with music, it is a truly beautiful event!Enjoy the fireworks! There are frequent high quality shows set from a barge in the lake.
